I love teaching and sharing my knowledge with my students, both children and adults. 
Each lesson is structured differently for each student and catered towards the individuals needs and desires. 
Preparing students for auditions in a fun environment. Working on vocal technique, stamina, breathing and performance. Building up confidence. Finding each students voice on their own unique vocal journey.

Jenna

My name is Jenna. I am a mum of 2 gorgeous wee kiddies. 

I graduated in 2008 from The Australian Institute of Music in Sydney, Australia, with a Bachelor of Music, Majoring in Music Theatre.

I have performed in many productions/soloist roles, both in New Zealand and Australia.

My biggest role was playing Rosalia, and understudied the lead role Maria, in the Australian touring production of West Side Story. I also toured Australia in The Music of Andre Rieu Spectacular show, both as a Soloist and within a Trio. 

Other accomplishments have been performing the role of Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat,(now FOUR Times, most recently in Nov/Dec 2020).  Singing a duet with the late Rob Guest on his New Zealand Tour and have worked for Perform Educational Musicals, touring around schools for book week and cyber safety awareness.

Now I have settled in Palmerston North with my family. I have decided to dedicate my time to teaching and helping other achieve their singing goals. I love running Legato Vocals.

Jenna is an amazing vocal coach! She was brilliant at adapting to my learning style. Being more of a visual learner she worked with me to help achieve what I thought was a impossible note to sing. The best thing I did was contact Jenna and even though it was 3 weeks before my audition, she helped me develop my voice and also land the role in an upcoming musical! My daughter aged 12 has been doing vocal lessons through Legato for a year. She has absolutely blossomed in that time from being a beautiful shy singer to a beautiful singer excited about singing in front of others and allowing herself to learn to improve. She has gained so much in skills and confidence and I’m excited about how her voice will develop in the future. Legato is special because of the confidence children gain in singing on their own. At the annual showcase, I was amazed to see children as young as around 5 and 6, totally rocking their solos that they’d practiced and doing it with talent and flair. The older performers and even the tutors have so much talent and experience. This is also an inclusive music school which includes all performers including those with disabilities. Legato you are awesome!
